People Merging With Robots? Becoming Cats?

“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”(v.26,27)

Satan will always seek to obscure the image of God wherever it is found. This is one of the reasons that he fights so hard against fruitful multiplication - it leads to more image bearers in the world. Satan is always seeking LESS of God on display… not more. If he cannot stop new life from coming into existence, then the next best thing is to deconstruct what it means to be a human - a person - someone made in the image of God. The next best thing is to deceive people into abandoning their humanity… the ways in which they have been made in God’s image.

There are so many bizarre ways this happens all around us - some more subtle than others. Stop for a moment and think about how this lie has crept into society. Sometimes it comes through the act of devaluing a human trait… making it seem arbitrary. This is a heated topic today - but Satan has deceived humanity this way concerning genders. It happens when we make one gender seem evil (an attack on masculinity, calling it “toxic”), or when we make gender out to be something arbitrary that we can pick and choose… flip-flop back and forth on. This is simply Satanic - it is the erosion of God’s image in humanity. Look at the scriptures: “Male and female he created them”. Gender is a powerful part of the divine image in us - GIVEN US by God… one might say ASSIGNED to us at birth with the powerful opportunity to represent God in life. To cast this aside or malign it is to attack the image of God. The same is true for the attempt to reject ALL genders - this sort of “non-binary” moniker. This is simply unbiblical, and from the enemy. Talk about seeking to untether a person from the image of God in!

I read a series of articles a month ago about how there are people who have decided that not only were they going to switch their genders, but also their species. Seriously. There are people undergoing operations to change their bodies seeking to become cats and dogs. How backwards is that? When people buy the lies Satan pedals concerning gender and sexuality, the next layer is abandoning the “species” as a whole. What an attempt to come out from under the image of God! This too is from the Devil. In the same vein I read an excerpt from the leader of the World Economic Forum who said that the time had come to re-define what a human is… or develop a new definition all together for a new type of being. He was talking about merging humans with robots!

This is just one more example of how Satan’s lies have deceived so many. We worship technology in so many ways. Most humans think it is technology that will “save” them… not Jesus! Google wants to make us “gods” by providing access to all the information in the universe in one click. (Seriously, read their mission, vision, and company bio.) Advocates for singularity want to make us immortal by “downloading” our minds / memories / and existence into robots. Klaus Schwab and others want to usher in the 4th industrial revolution by merging humans with machines. The list goes on and on. The point is that these are examples of trying to take God’s attributes as our own… turning image bearing on its head! Satan wants us to think that God copies us… not that we are images of God! Satan is trying to take the human out of humanity. Robots are not image bearers!

This is just another type of lie that Satan peddles.YOU ARE MADE IN GOD’S IMAGE. Read Psalm 139. You are “fearfully and wonderfully made”. God knew you before the foundations of time and made you who you are. He has given you gifts, talents, weaknesses, and strengths. You have a unique and powerful way that you bear God’s image in this world. The more of God’s image in this world means the more beautiful the world is! Do not let Satan deceive us or those around us! Love you guys. - JDP
